How I Write
At the bottom of this page is a link to my writing resume, and you can see some links to my work on this page.
You’ll also find here a writing sample, based on revising a text available online. My goal is always to write concisely. I’ve been told my style is “spare”, and I see that as a good thing. Perhaps it comes from years of writing to strict word counts. But when writing for digital formats, it’s important to get to the point before the reader loses interest!
In this case the text is about how to design desktop applications for optimal functionality and simplicity. The first step in demonstrating this has to be explaining the process as simply as possible. Like a desktop app, a document has an intended user. The intended user of this document does not want literary quotations or anything else that distracts. They want clear, actionable advice.
